AKOS 91557 - Introduction
O-(tert-Butyldiemthylsilyl)hydroxylamine is an organic compound with the chemical formula C8H21NO2Si. It is a colorless to light yellow liquid, insoluble in water at room temperature, but soluble in many organic solvents, such as ethanol, ether and hydrocarbon solvents.
O-(tert-Butyldiemthylsilyl)hydroxylamine are commonly used as reducing and oxidizing agents in organic synthesis. It can participate in some catalytic reactions, such as the catalytic reduction of nitrite esters and the catalytic reduction of oxidized ketones. In addition, it can also be used as a nitroxide radical scavenger and an antioxidant.
One method of preparing O-(tert-Butyldiemthylsilyl)hydroxylamine is by reacting trimethylsilyl chloride with N,N-dimethylhydrazine under alkaline conditions.
Regarding safety information, O-(tert-Butyldiemthylsilyl)hydroxylamine has low toxicity, but it is still necessary to pay attention to safe use and storage. It should be kept away from fire and heat sources and used in a well-ventilated place. Rinse immediately with plenty of water when in contact with skin or eyes. Wear protective gloves and eye protection during use. If necessary, refer to relevant safety information and consult professionals.
